I am looking to find a tool that will pull the planet, ship, and alien data out of a twa file so I can post the edits overall specs.

Does anyone know of one?

I don't know of one, but it shouldn't be hard to make one that would work from tedit.

You could use twx or zoc.  I don't know much about twx, so sing or someone would have to help you there.  I could write one in rexx, but might take a while because of my time factor.

i've been meaning to write a script that creates the .ans and .txt files for any edit showing the settings that are normally hidden from players. i'll revisit that if nobody else wants to.

It would be indispensable to my thinking. After all, TW is all about the data/info. The more you have the better off you are.

As it is now. When someone suggests an edit I am not familiar with I loaded it  up in my twgs and look it over.

Rev if there is anything I can do to help with this please just tell me.

It would indeed be cool to have a way to automate making a file that contains ship and planet data.  I'd use it just to post my data in the web site.  I tried using the command line and generating the TWSTATS.TXT file, but it gives a bit to much info to the players.  Like Ferrengal home sector, as well as Class 0 locations.  Not a good idea to put that up front, but then again, most won't be checking my site anyway so it really won't matter, then again, most aren't checking my site, so why bother with the site!

I recall the Rev had a way to make your info (game info)
for ships & planets veiwable in game.
The SysOp had to make each file or edit it.
And TWA archive it completely.

Lots of work.

Eg. Desert Storm , Vid's Stock , Eden , Borgan
edits on my server that may still have these files in them .. (been awhile since I've looked)

Now if there were a way to collect the info to exspeediate the process .. I'm in.
I work mainly in twx if that helps.

first 2 sysops to icq me their email, i'll send them a beta. i'm kinda buried at work right now so it will be tonight or tomorrow when i get it out. i need to do a few things to make it generic enough for various twgs installs. (@#$%@ EIS changed the default install folder - at least once - does anyone have a list of them?)
