Blown? Yes, stronger.

AFAIK, it also gets stronger anytime a class 0 or class 9 is blown.

If someone attacks but doesn't destroy it... no. And when a person attacks they're in-sector, not on the port, so they can be killed if they go red and are (hehe) low on figs. They can also be fed figs by a corpie, which is the only real way to blow dock after it gets strong enough. You sit at the attack prompt and get fed as needed till it's gone.

in addition any players on sd when it is blown are not blown up and can continue to buy ships and other items
untill they lift off. (then sd is destroyed to that player also)
however they cant be fed cash while on sd.

ok zen...forgot to mention that anyone trying to relog into SD or any other blown special ports will end up with player in a pod. Players beware!

Fortunately there's a "Are you sure you want to do this?" kindof prompt before you do, which means it's possible to say no and survive (and easy to script, too). Enter defaults to no, making it even easier.

I did a little research on this and it turns out the starting defense value is 2500. That doesn't mean a whole lot really as the amount of damage that dock deals out to the attacker does go up... but does so pretty randomly. Still the higher the rating the more punishment it can take, the more figs it will take and the harder it hits back.

It appears that all of the class 0s and stardock are tied together as the same defense rating. When you blow one, all of the others increase up by 2500. In essence every time you blow a "special" port the rating for all of the others goes up.

Nothing happens if you fail to blow it. It stays at the same defense rating. It appears that the rating is not hurt if you attack it, abort, then go back to attack it again. The "battle" starts over every time you hit pa. So if you can't succeed in blowing it while you're there and have nobody to feed you figs... then that port isn't blowable for you.

If you want to check a port's defense rating you have to attack it, but you can attack with 0 figs to abort and save your ship.

I know of no way to artificially increase the defense rating for the special ports except to "pre blow" them by going around with a big ship, killing the ports then clearing the logs of it. Time consuming to setup but if you blow all 4 special ports then doing that gives you a hefty 12500 rating [(4*2500)+2500] on all of them. That makes them pretty hard to kill in most edits (takes like 1m damage points [your figs * off odds]) to get the job done at that point and the first blast is usually greater than 50k.

If i have someone to feed me figs .. then class 0's can always be destroyed? Cause I could always have a full load (minus 1 attack)?   Or.. does the rating of the port get high enough that the attack from port will eventually be more figs than the ships total ?

You sit at the attack prompt while your corpie feeds you figs and shields, you can continue to do that for as long as your corp has figs and shields or until SD blows up.

Well, sorta. The blast wave increases, yes. So depending on your ship's size it's possible for the very first blast to pod you.

If that's the biggest ship in the edit then that port is invulnerable.

thanks for the info it has been helpful

another related question to see if i understans what you have told me. there are 3 0-potrs plus SD. let's say that you blow a port a day so in 4 days you have all ports blown. when does the point value go up on the port as each is blown or when they start to come back on line? example lets say you blow SD and it is at 2500 the next day you blow rylos is that at 2500 or 5000. since SD was the first port to be blown when it came back on line would it be at 5000 or 12500?

SD starts at 2500, so it's (blows*2500)+2500. So after 4 blown class 0s/9s you're at 12500 defense. So if you go thru and blow dock, rylos, alpha and sol all 1 day apart. Then when you blow dock, all of the others go up to 5000. Then when you blow rylos, alpha and terra go up to 7500. Then alpha, 10000, then sol, 12500. So as you go down the line they get tougher to blow. They get stronger after you blow them, not after they come back.
