I had seen a script to create a roaving planet within a game, and I downloaded it (I think from Grimy), but it appears my file is bad. Can somebody email it to me if you have it. I'd like to try it out in a game I'm setting up to open on Saturday.

Thanks!

Sent this morning 0800 PST. If you have an issue with it let me know and I'll extract the script for you.

i think they are talking about a "runaway" script. the concept is that you sit on the citadel of a mobile planet and if your script detects anyone approching your location, the planet warps way to another location out of reach. with a decent grid and some ore production on your planet, you can stay alive for quite a long time this way if your opponents are stronger than you. its a losing strategy by itself, but combined with good cashing and gridding - and a little luck - you could pull off a win.

correct me if i'm wrong guys.

i believe he either meant roving or roaming, and i would assume its some sort of world planet trade script, though i dunno whats available at grimy.
you are correct as to what a runaway script is, dunno if thats what he meant though.

if it is the script he was looking for that I sent him, it's:

"For Sysops to create a roving planet." It creates a planet or uses a planet and it moves around the Universe. Quite interesting to say the least.

OK, so I don't spell well, but thanks to Thrawn I got what I was looking for! Yes, it's a planet that moves about the universe I'm assuming on it's own as I've not used it yet. Just enough to throw in a little challenge to your avoids!

You select the planet number you want the script to use and it will move it in so many specified minutes. I'm not too sure if it will do anything else, and I'm certain it won't work too well if it is assigned to an Alien race. I've tried it in a test game and it seem to work good. Never tried it with rogue or alien planet.

I've seen it used as a second Terra in the past. Does it replenish its own fuel ore?

In the game I've seen this it was called a Wanderer and it rebuilds all product to max - including fighters. It was a level 1 planet so whoever finds it can have instant cols, product, figs (could not be upgraded - had to move items).

I thought it messed up the game as shear luck in finding the planet could give you the game. Start gridding and dropping 10k figs with the fighters off of the planet.
