I have a problem in one of my games with two sectors that at first seem to be isolated. The two sectors make up a two deep dead end, and from all but the sector they are actually connected to, if you enter either of the two sector numbers to move to them you get the following error...

Computing shortest path...
*** Error - No route within 45 warps from sector 1234 to sector 4321
Clear Avoids?

But if you make it into the sector they are actually connected to, then you can warp in just fine.

Anybody know how to repair this?

Sounds like you have the sector they are connected to marked as an avoid. Have you tried clearing the avoids by typing Y when it asks you if you want to clear avoids? You can also clear your avoids from the command prompt with the string "cv0^Myyq"

If there are no avoided sectors, the sectors are more than 45 warps apart.
Nothing wrong with it, just can't get from point A to point B without stopping for gas. :)
You could ask the sysop to raise the number from 45 to 60 or something like that.

Sounds like it was "Vaderized" if you don't have the sector avoided. Vader banged a game and then reset the max hops - caused me grief, but was interesting to play. At least that is what I think he did - never know with him.

Interesting. I'd like to look at the map, would you mind giving me the address, either here, or by icq 13613573, or private message here?

No avoids, not over max warps... this happened only 2 hops away! Anyway, I went into TWEdit and removed all the sector links, then put them back, and after extern ran everything is working again. This was a really strange one.

Thanks
