My dad just switched over to Linux. I am running an XP server. I tried helping him connect to my server but I do not know anything about Linux.
Does anyone know the commands to connect to my server or a program he can use?

Thanks in advance

Tom

With WINE you should be able to set him up to use Windows programs, such as ATTAC, Kokua (NOTE - Kokua does not need WINE, it is a Linux application), SWATH, TWX, etc. I assume you have addresses for tradewars helpers already, if not just type the name of it along with tradewars and the official site will come up in the search.

And for tips on working with WINE and Linux apps...

Kokoa is a Helper for Linux at: http://www.twdata.org/kokua

Get to a terminal window and type in 'ifconfig' it will tell you what his current ip address is and make sure u r root when you do or it most likely will just say unknown beyond that it all depends on your flavor of linux. Wine can be a pain to get working, but if you can it will probably only run the simpler dos type programs. I tried once to get TWXProxy to run on Debian with no joy. If you are looking just to connect to your network then get ready to read some. By the way it was a few years ago I tried Wine so they may have gotten more things to work on it shrug. Best of luck!

Technically, Kokua is a Java app, not a linux app. That makes it platform independant, enabling it to run on windows, linux, etc.
