I am setting up just a small TWGS game for a few friends. I have things installed / registered correctly. I gave them the server address, and they can't seem to connect. Logins are enabled, server is online ... I gave the correct port and address. What do I need to do to have them connect? I can connect through the address - but they can't. |

Type something similar to "connection problems" in the Search menu and read through all the archives that come up, there is enough information in there to guide you through the entire configuration process for TWGS. |

also what IP address you use? if you have a router and one or more puters on it you will have an internal addy, you need to find out what your external addy is and post it to the players to connect to, and let them know what port you are using as well. Do you have a firewall on the puter or the router, if you have a router, then make sure the firewall will pass the port as well. Also for the router, you have to set the port forwarding to the puter that has the twgs on it. But like Rexx said do a search on the connection problem with the twgs, it should help you from archives of similar problems others had, if it don't help you get with me or any other sysop and we all can help you out. |

Thanks. Yes, I do have a router. I have used http://www.whatismyip.com and it tells me one address, and TWGS tells me one. When I use the addy from that website, and try to start the server, I get this error : Creating player listener... Querying server IP addresses... Binding player listener... Error binding player listener (10049) Closing player listener... Cleaning up... When I use the one that TWGS provides, I can connect to it, but nobody else. How do I find out the address my router is giving out? |

with that error you need to stop or disable the telnet service on the puter. I pm'd you to show you how to get there to do that, let me know if it helped. Forget that on the error ending in 49, that is a connection problem from the outside, you will have to manually put in the outside IP, or if the dns service that gave you what your external IP is, is doing a dns point to your puter, then you use the addy they setup for you and set the twgs to auto. Also check out the threads Rexx said to go to. |
