What is the general feeling on not having an escape pod on a ship?
Work hard to capture and you still get a corb explosion for your effort?

Ok. My feelings on pods. Keep them. It's better to be podded by a corb explosion than sd'd.

Edits are Edits, The Maker of the edits when making a game
has an idea of what He or She would like to see the game
to do. In my case i love to play a game and figure out the edits
and work them to my advantage, or try. the point im getting at is
the Podless Ships if in a game are put there by the maker
for a reason, whatever that reason is. even tho im launching
a photon, moving into sector to MOTH, and find myself dead because
of Q-Cannon Blast destoyed my podless ship. makes me stop and
rethink game, and figure out a way around it. [;)]

I absolutely hate podless ships. IMHO the only ship that should be podless is the scout, because I have special feelings about them. The way I see it, if you are in a scout, you done messed up. You did something stupid and someone #sd'd# you for it. So the scout is like punishment for screwing up. You have to atone by running a gauntlet to get out of it and into a better, safer ship before you can go on playing. Assuming you are red or have too much xp, of course. If you're a fedsafe blue, you usually just end up leaving that scout at terra as a badge of shame. Everyone who goes to terra is reminded of how you flubbed. Which is good, really. A little shame and embarassment can be a good learning tool, lol.

Psion,, Im not sayin i love or even like Podless ships, im just saying i take the edits for what thay are and figure the maker of the edit had a plan or somthing in mind when added in the game, and i adapt, or die.[:(]

Psi, lmao, love that part as a reminder...
Everyone who goes to terra is reminded of how you flubbed
heh heh
unless ur towing it to screw up a macro, so u can #SD# someone else...lol
But on Zilla's note, Space Ghost and I discovered that same thing... in the mothing, had to buy a more expensive ship to moth in, and findin a ship with a pod that was still cost effective was a new challenge, plus we had 2 more worthless ships sittin there, kinda sucked, but it did add to the challenge. We learned the ship edits, adapted and moved on, just slowed things down a day or two, and in a real game, that could be very deadly. As in another game costly, no pod, means that ship can not furb...hell to have a blue buy u 5 or 10 furbs, then find out there useless, same server... so I used that game to find a furb ship, that was my moth in the other. It all worked out sooner or later.

You can use a podless ship as a furb.

Heh..What's a furb?

You serious? LOL In case you are and for those who don't already know, a furb is a ship bought for the purpose of blowing it up. After a red busts and loses holds, its cheaper to have them blow up a ship and recover a portion of its holds than to go and buy new holds for the colt. Check http://www.tw-cabal.com, glossary section for more info, if you're interested.

I think what Zark was talking about was .. cost effective furb ..

same edit .. some ships had pods while others didn't , but all ships were extremly expencive for testing.

So lessons were real hard , unlike reading in some ship file telling you about edits <side note : I likie [:)].>

Heh..yes, I WAS serious. Just had not heard that term before but then I rarely play in mixed corps.

The thing is, it doesn't matter at all if a ship has a pod or not as to whether it can be used as a furb. He said/implied the ships were useless as furbs because they had no pods, but that just isn't the case.
