I dont get it. I have 4 active gold aliens in the game. I have corp figs all over, i never see a message that the aliens fight them. I checked my fig stats, and they were not depleted, so they were NOT attacked. I surrounded stardock with figs, offensive, while there were aliens at stardock. I went back to stardock 3 hours later and they were still there! They have a 1 in 1 move chance. Are they scanning and deciding NOT to go into the sectos with 33,333 figs? (Would make sense!) Also i Twarped my planet to one sector from stardock. Turned the quasar sector level to 100...and military reaction to 100...and interdictor active, and left for a bit...soon as i got a message that i had aliens snagged, i came back...they still had figs, i had 1 mil figs on the planet...how did they not get damaged? Are they impervious to figs and cannons? Anyone know?

They have lots of figs, about 10k-55k, aggressive,unforgiving,regenerative...
But as for an invincible setting i dont see one in tedit gold aliens editor.

Also this wouldnt explain why they NEVER attack my figs, and why my level of planet figs remained the same after they entered the sector...I made SURE that the military reaction level was 100 percent, and quasar cannon sector level 100 percent! Anyone have any suggestions?

lol, ignore him, you are right, there is no "invinsible alien" setting. he *might* be thinking of "invinsible ferrengal" for the classic ferrengi, but that has no bearing on gold aliens. and it actually has no bearing on classic ferrengi either, its only the planet.
now, to your "problem"
#1. you are playing in a game with aliens (heh)
#2. aliens well, they aren't traders, they do wierd stuff.
#3. ok, you trapped an alien with a planet outside of dock
a)aliens i believe only invade planets in their home space
b)i also believe aliens WILL chase and invade their home planet if you have it set up that way in tedit
c)your figs on the planet wont affect an alien in the sector
d)its a gold alien, my guess is that the ships are edited. what are the defensive odds? they could probably tear through 33k offensive figs without getting a scratch.
#4.100% sector cannon
a)heh
b)are you sure it wasnt 100% atmosphere?
c)let me get this right, you set a lvl6 planet 1 out of fed space and set the sector cannon to 100% WANTING it to hit something?
1)you realize that if your planet is in a MSL during extern it will go to a lvl2 cit right?
#5.not recieving fig hits.
a)this suprises me, what is the size of the uni and the size of your grid? agressive aliens should thrash your grid
b)with interactive subprompts off you wont see the messages at certain prompts BUT you will get them all when you leave the prompt.
im not sure about where a great database is for alien research or even who is a great guru of aliens but if there is one he/she will probably post and fill you in on some info.
most people dont play with aliens because
A. they are annoying
B. they are annoying
C. the players prefer to play real people
D. they are annoying
heh
well, i hope i helped somewhat even with my intermitant sarcasm
if you have any other questions, i always say, ICQ me at 207-107-486 and i'll answer anything i can or find the answer for you

My universe size is 15,000 sectors (I know thats alot, im just testing it out!) I had about 100 sectors full of 33k figs. 1000 aliens, and more than half have a 1 in 1 move chance, they move all the time! They should hit ONE of those sectors? Do they scan? And not enter a sector with alot of figs? Yes my sector cannon level was 100 percent, i am sure...i tested it twice...yeah you are right, they didnt land on the planet. Mabye the cannon attacked them but didnt destroy any of their figs?

only a 100 sector grid in a 15k universe? heh, well they probably won't hit your figs then. they DO avoid high density sectors i i believe but that might depend on a setting (i havent messed in the alien editor for a while) also i think they generally dont venture all that far away from home except in or around the MSL's

Slim is probably right, ignore me, it's been a long time
I probably WAS thinking about the invincible ferrengal setting.
As for the way the alien's behave, they obviously are acting aLOT differently than I remember, if they are acting the way Slim described (and I don't doubt him), so evidently I know nothing about aliens
Sorry to waste your time.
I do remember, though, that even in the gold, the aliens have a tendency to regenerate their figs and shields "magically" even while you are attacking them, this could explain why they entered your sector but fighter compliments didn't change.
Also, they used to be able to fly right past defensive fighters of players, I used to see them do it all the time, they'd enter a sector and go right past your defensive or offensive figs, and even seem to ignore your interdictors and end up getting hit by quasars that were one sector further in than any player would ever have been able to go.
I don't know though, maybe that's not the case any more.

Yeah well, im running version 3.09, so i guess that is the problem. Aliens dont have home sectors(i havent found any) or planets. Aliens dont go into sectors with fighters...and this sucks.

Make sure when you rebang that you do not select "internal aliens" and that your Gold settings are turned on. Also, when you activate your alien races, make sure that the option "maintain home planet" is set to yes, and that they have a home planet assigned to them. Also, do not restrict weak aliens, and make sure their move and explore percentages are set to your liking (don't use the move percentages in the General Editors for aliens unless you are running internal aliens, which you probably shouldn't be if you are going to run Gold aliens).
That's all I can remember about the settings, I'd have to take a look at what you've done, but I'm sure it's something that could be fixed.

There is no setting for mantain a planet for the aliens! This is version 3.09 If it were a higher version it would have those settings...does this mean they wont have a planet? I dont think so, because it has a part that asks you what kind of planet should the aliens have...so i am clueless at this point...only reason im still using this old door version is im running worldgroup with some games, and i cant set up a TWGS without it interfering with WG, so i use synchronet and people can just rlogin to synchronet and play TW. Mabye its time to ditch majormud, and just go with TWGS?

Please get on a TWGS server where the help in identifying and reporting strange things is more important then the ones already known in dead versions.
But please partisipate , I like reading this forum over most everywhere I surf [:)]

I've seen run worldgroup bbs's run a TWGS just fine. I know nothing about setup of them, so I couldn't really help you with the specifics. TWGS will accept rlogin connections, I think that's the standard method.
