Hi,
I am having what I think may be an attempt at hacking my machine. I am running TWGS on an internal LAN machine and I have port 2002 forwarded to it. This works great. However, a few minutes ago I noticed a repeated connection attempt. The person never logs in they just connect, sit idle, and then disconnect. Over and over and over again. I have added the IP to the filter list on my router but that didn't seem to accomplish anything. Does anyone have any ideas on how to block this IP?

Thanks

P.S.

It is almost certainly what slim suggested. Someone probably has TWX set to reconnect, but has no login script set. Therefore the person connects, sits at the login prompt until they time out, then reconnect. There is no way to "hack" a twgs on the normal game port. Were it on the admin port, you might have somehting to worry about, assuming you didn't have it filtered correctly.

Hmm. I've gotten the same thing and have presumed that that person has put the wrong port in, like 23 instead of 2002 as I've only gotten the message in TWX, and that is on port 23.

Ahab - that is probably what is happening.

I had the same problem. Player occupied a node and sat at the "init" prompt. 2 days this went on. Finally, I just banned the IP from within TWGS and after about 10 minutes of reconnect attempts, it gave up and went away.
