So, is there a way to edit the random insult file? You know the one that posts the occasional announcment when a trader is destroyed? One of my players was interested, now I'm curious.

Easy peasy, use Wordpad or Notepad and open up:

"C:\Program Files\EIS\TWGS\Game\oathtext.dat"

It appears to be a text document, here are the contents:

I imagine you can change the number of oaths and then edit or add your own.

are the oaths globle or are they in each game?

It is in the game directory, not the TW1 etc directories, so I assume they are global.
