Well, my PC went *ka-zap* *kaboom* and i went "ARRGHH". Mainboard fried. So i just sold some goodies on ebay, and tommorow ill be buying a buttload of new and improved hardware from a friend, and ordering a new processor (which i must wait for shipping). Now the hdd went ka-zap as well so im imagining my game files are gone. Even so, ill rebang anyway and hope my ship edits didnt get zapped. But i have a few questions before i set it up and let it rip. #1: In my old game, aliens had a bad habit of spawning within 5 sectors of each other. I had about 3 races clumped together, it was interesting but not very exciting because when you found one race, the others were nearby. is this normal, or did i have something set wrong maybe? #2: What would happen if you set the alien home sector range to like 50 sectors out? Would that make the race crazy-agressive, taking over and assaulting anything they can find in that range? Because that would be really cool I thin thats all. I thought there was more but im drawing a blank. If i think of more ill just post back here. Thanks in advance. |

#1 I believe where the races spawn is totally random, only thing i can think of would be to put em in bubbles #2 50 sector or whatever the max is would just make it little more difficult for players to go in there and find home planet and has no affect on how aggresive they are. I Think if you bang a game check the alien sectors if there close see if changing the seed or size of universe changes it. just off the top o my head Z |

OH i remember the other one. One of my players invaded some relatively low-power aliens that i made for newb fodder, and found 600mil in their citadel. That was kind of an unbalance. Does changing the % in the aliens trading setup effect how much money they accumulate? |

Hmmm the planets spawn are 1 terra 2 ferrengal 3 alien 4 alien 5 alien etc so in your edits somewhere the credits WERE edited and you might have not went back to buff the planet up or it's from and old setting before rebang.... when you click rebang it asks for settings that exist, default, or something else. the something else is actually the last setting saved before changes of the current game before rebang! look at the words. exist is the settings as they stand now!. default means you got edits redo them for the next couple of hours. Basically if they found 600Mit had to be edited in there so think back and go into the right folder and just delete, rebang and redo or look at the support forums. the same file_name that happened when maybe you were testing games from the start, it picked up those values and planets the same. aliens will "reinforce" there home planet but ain't no way in hell if the planet starts with 100k it'll (they) trade and such) make money and put back on planet, they'll drop figs' go out trade get more figs drop em in home sector(s) and continue on. the AI aint to that stage yet. On that note if they had half the I that people do. the game would take a totally different turn for the better heh! Z PS yawn. set returns to 10 cit at 100,000 let it run for 1 hour and notice itll go up maybe 2k if that. scuse my puctuation, i didn't goto that sscchooll Z |

Editted in? Aliens put money on their planets by themselves. My Borg were making about 10 million an hour, if I remember correctly. They had a nice sum even by day 3 in my game. |

It depends on the aliens too...I noticed the aggressive evil races seem to use more money from their citadels than they put back and the passive good races seem to build money up in their citadels. Also their trading percent only has an affect on how long it takes them to get there. |
