One of my players got destroyed and i havent been able to talk to him but i was wondering what this meant i went to check his user profile and thats what says that killed him if anyone knows tell me

One of my players was destroyed today by a GOLD Alien
and the last killed by field reads "<unkown value: 52>"

Yes when an unknown value is given , that is one of the alien races that killed the player.
I believe the value would indicate which alien , but since I don't know how they determine value to alien , I can't tell you which one did it.

But it isn't an error , just a player got killed.

but a alien killing a trader would have shown up in the log there was nothing about him dieing at all

I have come across this before. You will see this happen only with the gold aliens. And basically you game files are now corrupt. You can continue to run the game as is. But, you will start to see this message, in the log files more often. As the game files become even more corrupt over time.

Sorry, but the only way to fix this it to rebang the game.

Actually the corrupt file is the mail file. Delete TWSMF.DAT and your problem will disappear. This will not cause any problems with the game, though of course the players will not get any messages.

File coruption problems are almost always in the mail file. I think I know why, but unless you are a programmer the explanation wouldn't make sense.

I had thought the mail file was twmail.dat That's what I've always seen people say to delete for the mail file corruption.

You are correct Harley, I have had problems with it and had to delete it myself.
