I have recently set up a game on my spare computer...The question I have is I am running a cable modem through a router...Now when I re-boot my server the IP address changes...I have figured out a way to make it work by having my other computer connected to the net while I reboot the server and it keeps the IP address the same, but if I go into the router setup and change it to Static IP, nothing seems to want to work anymore...The server or the other computers...Anyone have a solution to this...Like I said I have a half Butt solution, but would like to set it up right... Entropy If you can't get a dedicated IP number from your ISP , you can op for a DYN redirect server to give your server a name and address , your server computer will run an update program every 15 mins or every time you loose connection.
