One of my players asked me how to attack in Fed space. I couldnt answer him, so I brought it to the experts.

Hmmm...well you attack in fed space the same way you attack anywhere else. a(attack)y(yes)# of figs[enter]

But you are protected by good ole cappy z if your are good aligned(0 or above) and your experience is less than 1000(must be 999 or less), otherwise your fair game.

You can blow up a player that meets the above criteria if you can blow up a port(ie in 2-10) while they are trading there, or if you can get them to land on a planet and then blow them up whilst they're on it. Getting the pod would be a-whole-nother matter.

I also found out to my chagrin that in some of the edited games, you can easily blow up the port in sector one and they person also dies if on it. On SD, you can continue using it just normal after it's blown up until you blast off.

Good point. I'm curious, if you know, how many figs does it take to blow the port in 1 in a non-edited game? Rough estimate of course.

Suppose this thread would be more appropriate for the school section.

First time a class 0/9 is blown I think it takes around 250k figs in an IC. Not sure, that's just the number that stick in my mind

If you add up all the product maximums and divide by 4 it will give you an estimate of what it will take to blow the port. So I have heard anyway, never tried figuring it out I just kill em. On the other hand on a SPECIAL port, class 0 or 9 its pretty rough to kill them. The first one you attack has a 2500 defensive rating and they go up by 2500 each time you kill one so the second one would be 5000, third 7500, and 4th is 10000 defensive rating. Hope that helps and if anyone knows if the formula above works let me know. I was told that and never tried it.

I think it also depends on how fast you blow it up. Artemis and I played in a test game to see if we could blow up the Star Dock. I was in an ISS and he was in a Scorpion. Ironically he had to feed me figs he bought at the Star Dock. If I paused the attack for a while, it did more damage. I could only hold 50K figs and could only attack with 9999 figs at a time in an ISS. (It would not let me attack with 10000, only 9999 max). So the Star Dock regererates if you pause the attack and it deals you more damage. Took about 15 or 20 rounds before I blew it up.
