A lot of stuff has been going on lately with JP and EIS as some of you might have surmised from the lack of recent updates to TWGS/TW2002.
JP has taken a job with Realm Interactive in Phoenix, Arizona, to assist in the development of Trade Wars: Dark Millenium. He will be departing at the end of the month. For the time being Trade Wars 2002/TWGS development has been put on hold. It is hoped that after getting settled in down in Phoenix that he'll have the time and opportunity to continue moving TWGS/TW towards a final release sometime around Release .60.
This is -not- the end of development for Trade Wars. JP only intends on working with Realm until the completion of the TW:DM project, at which time he will return to his own work on TWGS/TW. There are already some ideas on the table for a next-generation remake of the game for sometime down the road. Part of the purpose for his teaming up with Realm is to be able to bring some big-game experience back home with him when he returns.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email. I should be available 24/7 on ICQ after the 12th as well.

"This is -not- the end of development for Trade Wars." I heard this before on many projects being a software developer myself, which tends to signify the end. After a long dull pause of no developement with the user not checking for updates, the project slowly slips into a void. I guess .56 , and the AI Update in .57 / .58 is on permanate hold.
I wish JP all the best!!

I too want to wish JP good luck in his new endeavor. although this is a bit of a disapointment for the tradewars community it may not be all bad. sometimes getting away from something and doing something new can help you with new and fresh ideas and a better attitude. Also, I do understand that this is just a game that JP has probably made very little from and not his bread and butter. I cant complain about this product for what I paid for it, it is worth every penny to me as is. I do think better communication when updates are going to be avalible would help. anyway, Jp, good luck with Realm interactive and try to have a little fun when you are in Phoenix.

If I wanted to say Trade Wars development is ending, I would say, "Trade Wars development is ending." It is not. .56 will be released after JP gets settled down in Phoenix, and development will continue.
