Is there any way to allow some of the games on my server to have a ship delay and the others to have no delay? Or is that a global command that affects the entire server.

Maybe someone has a trick I can employ? I want to set up some games that do have a ship delay along side some 20k gold versions that don't[:D]

Global only. I really don't know why, that's just the way it is.

Well! That's just a downright bummer!

I spent the weekend T-editing a game while I was in it. I found all kinds of little things like this. Seems like a server should have the capability to run completely separate games. They really shouldn't be tied together globally. This really limits what the server can do. I noticed there are a LOT of settings that are global that should be game specific.

Maybe in the next version, this might be something they could fix?

There are very few global settings. Probe delay, ship delay, I think max commands/cycle. Right off of the top of my head, I can't think of anything else, although I seem to think there were one or two more. Considering the hundreds of tedit options, 5-10 global only options are not "a LOT of settings." However, I do agree, it would be nice if some of those things weren't global.
