Hi All, Please don't flame me for not doing my own homework but I once had a BBS with TW2002 on it and I want to start up something again but Telnet based and probably minimal nodes unless multiple players can play in the same game at the same time. I want something that is the easiest solution but that will run in the windows XP environment. I would be able to get a static IP address and it'd be running on an AMD 3400 or something like it. I assume that speed is not an issue but it seems that you need TW gold, TW game server and I don't know what else. Again sorry for not doing my homework but I have the equipment and am willing to buy all the software but I don't have a ton of free time to setup and or manage the server. Thanks All J |

The easiest setup is TWGS, TWGold, and TW2002. The TWGS will handle running the trade wars sessions, a BBS is no longer needed. If you had tw2002 registered at one point, you shouldn't need to purchase codes for it again. You can contact John at jpritch@eisonline.com in regards to that. As to multiple nodes, the are worthwhile. The game now allows multiple concurent connections to the same game, allowing for player interactivity. |

Just do as Harley suggests and you should be up and running in no time at all. John is (IMHO) the god when it comes to solving problems involving the TWGS, and don't sell yourself out on not doing your homework, I was in here not long ago doing the same thing[:D]. And I got helped from a lot of people who really wanted to help, even John himself took the time to help me out, and they all will do the same for you too. Vulcan |

All major OS's come with a telnet client. If they want more than that, there are several different tw specific helpers. Attac, kokua, swath, and TWX come to mind right off hand. |
