I have looked in several places but I am sure I am just missing it somewhere.

I am wanting to connect to TWGS with my program instead of using the connection window in the Command Center. Is there a way to Direct conncet to the game as well as have it open to Telnet for players? If that makes any since.

connect to 127.0.0.1 when running it on your own system.
so lets say you are running TWGS on your system and want to use ZOC to connect to the TWGS. just put 127.0.0.1 for the IP/addy and you are good to go.(port 23 or 2002 or whatever your twgs uses) if you want to connect ZOC to TWX and then to the TWGS, just input the listening port in ZOC(swath, etc..)(and have addy as 127.0.0.1 as usual) and make sure its correct in TWX and in TWX point it towards 127.0.0.1 in the TWX game area. (and have 23 or 2002 etc as game port)
i havent tried using 23 or 2002 as a listening port in TWX while doing this, but i find it easiest to just use a random port.

Tizwit ; you could use a link from your website that would open a telnet link
TizWiz's Server
telnet://tizwit.dynu.com

But as slim said , you could use localhost or 127.0.0.1
on port 23 or 2002
Whatever your sever is set to.
But best way to make sure your outside connection will
work for other player is to use what they must use

I hope this answers your question completly.

Keep TWGS running, stop the server, goto Server, configure, and look at the server tab. The game port should be 23, and the protocol Telnet. If those are set correctly, then it is as Slim says, telnet 127.0.0.1 from Start/Run or DOS.

Also, you need to make sure that nothing else (such as TWX), is listening on port 23.

Yes that is true, I had a similar prob with my TWGS but it was trying to get it to go online on my online web server and it would hang up, I finally figured it out with some help from John Pritchett, BTW thanks John. But before that I had the problem you have, you have to double check all connections to the TWGS. Also in some cases you need to disable telnet on the computer for the TWGS to work right. Even when you disable telnet it will work due to TWGS, at least it does on my puter.[:)] I hope this helps some.

Still not working.. did all above suggestions and yet nothing. The only thing I was unable to do was to disable telnet on this computer.

Guess I will just use it the other way. Thanks for the help
