I may be outta touch here, or outta luck...or both, but here's my problem:
I'm running Registered TW2002 3.09 DPMI with Gold, using Syncronet BBS as my telnet front end. I'm running three alien races, Ferrengi included.
Whenever a player attacks another player, the atackee is kicked off the game. when a player attacks a non-player, the NP server shuts down.
Am I doing something wrong? (Other than not using TWGS?)

It might be a mail file problem. Try deleting your mail.dat file for the game.

I will try that...and still got that same problem.
For the Non-Player Server, the output says:
"File Error (33) - GOLD\XNon.Dat: Lock Violation
10/25/16 03:41:45 PM Server Halted
Timeout while attempting access to GOLD\XNon.DAT (108)
User ejected from game."
(I probably should have put this in the original post, but I didn't have the window staying open after server halt until now...sorry.)
I'm running the game on a 400 Mhz PII with 96 MB RAM under Windows 2000.

Ok, I'm all out of ideas. I'm sorry, I just don't have much experience when it comes to 3.09. You might try emailing JP directly at jpritch@eisonline.com

One thing you might note is that with the system you have its a wonder Win 2k will even run. It uses a lot of processing power and memory and it looks like you have something close to the bare minimum for Win 2k to even run. You may be running out of resources when you get too many things happening at one time. Either way I would suggest a system upgrade. I run Win 2k myself for my server but its on a 3200+ with 1024 meg of ram.

I'm wanting to start a DPMI TW 2002 3.09 game, but was having trouble getting the nonpserver deal to work right. I keep getting "no description" errors. If anyone can provide hints, tips, etc. for setting up a 3.09 DPMI game on my BBS, please let me know.

Interesting - I have to try that myself and see what happens - but I won't have a chance until next week, I'm travelling in the USA this week, and won't be home until sometime Friday.
But since I have been considering running a 3.09 game, I need to see what's happening. Try contacting me using ICQ on the weekend.
