Hey, I'm new here, so... if I'm posting this in the wrong place, just let me know.
I've got a 3-computer home network, and I'm trying to install TWGS & TW on one of them. (Demo versions for now; I'll be upgrading them both, assuming I can get it to work), and I must be doing something wrong.
TWGS works, and I can connect to the TWGS server over the network, but when I tell it to run the game, it all crashes. Right now, the TWGS program is in D:\TWGS, and the TW2002 data is in D:\TW2002. I've also tried putting the data in D:\TWGS\GAME\TW1 (pretty much the default), and still no luck. Every time I connect via telnet, I can view the menu, but when I try to start the game, it gives me this message:
Unable to start game. Shutting down this session.
and it cancels the connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more info, just let me know.

Giving the discription of your problem, along with the error message is ok. But, you have not given an detailed information, like:
system specs
detailed info on how you have setup the server.
detailed info on how you have setup any games.
With out this information no one can help you. I have not seen anyone post about this before. This does not mean it has not happened before.
To me, this sounds like you may not have activated the game(s), or that you may not have run Bigban on the game(s).
So, unless you give complete detailed information. There is nothing anyone, including JP, can do to help.

It sounds like you installed the DOS version of TW over the version that comes with TWGS. Is that right?

Actually, yeah. Whenever I had tried creating games in TWGS, it wouldn't run BigBang, so that's why I copied the other files into there.
Turns out, I hadn't changed the root directory in the settings to point to the right place, and that's why (I think) it couldn't run Bigbang or any of the other program files.

So now that it works, I've gone ahead and ordered my TWGS Lite / TW2002 / Gold registrations.
Thanks everyone. =)
