Once i have ship and planet edits done in a game i'm working on offline, how do i export the game information to a file to give to a twgs op who is willing to host the game for me? Question 2 is this, what exactly gets imported when they import the file. Just the ship/planet edits? IE: All other info has to be edited manually like port production, bust days, etc etc? Also, I'm not sure how to make custom ansi's/text menu's for planet/ship descriptions. I know how to set the names in the editor but where do the files go that are associated with the names? Thanks -LT |

Select the game you want in the command center, then go to archive and choose export game. All settings tedit settings will be exported, ships, planets, bust clear, rad lifetime, etc. Ansis go in your ansi directory. ~/twgs/game/ansi/ |

Thanks for the reply, I have another interesting question... 1) How do you use non-standard game settings? For instance in a game like 3 years ago naz's board ran a game with a ship called the "manned ether probe" that used 0 turns per warp. Is this only accomplishable using a hex editor? 2) And maybe another question along the same lines. Many years ago when hosem did some game edits for the HVS version he'd add aditional ships to the game mid-game but make there stats unviewable (figs per attack, torps, etc etc...) Is there anyway to do this? So that even on the ship list the stats are blanked out? Thanks -LT |

1) yes 2) Not that I'm aware of. If it is possible, it would be through use of a hex editor again. |
