I am about to upgrade my server to TWGS ver 1.02. I plan to backup my original server install to a separate hard drive then upgrade the server. Is it best to install on top of my existing server, or should I uninstall TWGS and run the new install? Also, are there any risks in banging a new universe using data files from an earlier version? Thanks in advance for any replies. |

The from the Command Center, Select game in left window. And then select Archive from the menu. And then Export. Give a name to the file, or use the default name. Make sure it ends in TWA. You can place the exported game files into any directory you want. Make sure that all the game files, listed in the Local files window, are checked. Then click on Export. Repeat for the rest of the games on your server. 2) uninstall the current installation of TWGS/TW 2002 3) install the newest version. Make sure it is on the new drive. 4) load up TWG and setup the settings. 5) add all the games you want. 6) From the Command Center, select the game you want to import. Then select Archive, and then Inport. The browse to where you had placed the TWA file. Then select it and then click on the Import button. Repeat for all games that you have an export of. 7) start your server. |

You misunderstood me a bit - I was only backing up the original install to a second hard drive. The new install was going on the same drive as the old server. Your advice was appreciated though, everything went smoothly, thanks! |
