a couple days ago, my twgs editor started showing up in some tiny little font. It's barely readable. (size 9) I can resize it to size 12, but it's pretty blocky. Anything that I can do short of reinstalling twgs? defaults to this size:
enlarged to size 12 font:
Edit: If I bring up a dos prompt and telnet to port 2003 to get to the editor, the font looks normal (same as my dos window) |

Sill same problem [:(] I un-installed again and even went into registry to rip it apart. No luck [xx(] I'm about to re-format HD , and end this problem. I hope you have better luck then I did , atleast it didnt happen to my Main server [;)] |

It's a font issue. I had it happen once a couple years back. It wasn't a TWGS problem, but some other software. Basically, the font that trade wars uses for that got changed. Unfortunately, it's been so long, I don't remember what font it was that needed to be fixed. |

Ok, I dug up some old logs and it helps me remember what I did. It was a pain in the Butt the way I did it, maybe you can figure out a better way. The problem is with your terminal font. It's been replaced. However, there are a bunch of font files that have terminal fonts. In win2k, you can open a terminal window, go to c:\winnt\fonts and do a dir then look at the dates. You can't use explorer because it hides some regardless of your settings. Look for ones with dates that are fairly recent (since the problems started happening), and try moving them to another folder and see if that fixes it. I basically replaced my entire fonts directory when I started having problems, but it was a pain finding all the fonts I needed. |

Well I copied my fonts from my main server to a usb dongle to replace those fonts on my test server. I didnt get me test server to work right yet .. But as a side note , I went to my main server to check if any games are ready for banging this week .. now it too has this same font problem. The thing is I didn't do anything but copy the fonts. |

You can't copy the fonts from explorer, and you can't paste them all into your fonts folder from within windows. Also, you'd need to remove all the olds fonts, then paste in all the new ones. Surely there is someone here who has a better idea than this |

Hey there! Just a player/user here. Not a sysop/registered twgs owner. Now, I know this topic is about fonts. My problem is with ANSIs. I've logged on to servers who have Version 3.12 (is that the latest version?), and I got "stalled" in between sectors, or when haggling/trading. This happens to me either on manual or if I auto-trade/explore. I use J-TWAT. Now, I know right there that's gonna make me sound like a dinosaur...But, yes I use J-TWAT exclusively, and yes I leave ANSIs on...I LOVE both. BTW, that is the solution I have found to my problem: by turning ANSI off, I can navigate normally. I hate all the foreground colors J-TWAT offers, though; haven't found one my eyes like. I think this problem should be looked into. I feel ANSIs and animation bring something good to the game, even though most veteran players turn them off for the sake of speed. Thanks in advance for your prompt, constructive replies |

Alt+O you can only have font size from 5-14 <- 14 on full screen is pretty legible or just telnet in and use ur admin address port 2003 or whatever it is. |

Use XP's System Restore. It's somewhat vague as to whether system restore will restore fonts or not, but the SDK seems to say so. This is the simplest and safest thing to try. If you are unfamiliar with system restore, let me know and I'll explain further. +EP+ |
