Isn't that related to that rogue planets bug? Were you have to do a fake landing as soon as you are able to so as to update the planets, otherwise you will need to start all over again as when you actually do land the planets will then reset themselves to be maxed out.

Missed this earlier, I am thinking that this is pretty good way to explain it though, heh!

If you had a clue, you would have read that it happened at Stardock and the pod warped out - and dock was surrounded. How long have pods warped through deployed figs from another corp?

I have never had someone's pod warp out (and dock was surrounded by my/corp figs) unless they had engaged twarp when they came off of Stardock. If the pod was supposed to go back from where it came, the a lot of players have a different bug to complain about.

Isn't that only for NavHaz, Cannon blasts, Fusing, other Self-Poddings, etc., otherwise wouldn't it be really easy to keep from ever getting SD'ed by another player acting offensive? So long as an IG was not involved; just warp in from a secret sector that has a standby ship ready and you will always be GTG, should another player find you hiding w/o a protective planet.

Well of course you would never get to warp into Fed, cause u r made out of a shinny bright Red, alright Fred, well now so it is time for u r bed, so be sure not to trip over u r sled, which is laying next to u r buddy, Ted... ok Fred!  =]~

But of course if your tow locker gets podded while u r in tow, then I presume that is the only way you would return to the originating jump point (being the towee). Although, maybe there is an error that lets the tow lead's Pod, return with them...?

How about this answer .. they came to dock by way of the backdoor and when podded they were back there calling for a saveme ?
Does that sound about right ?

Just a thought could it have been a Planet T-Pad to warp him there? i have done that in alien sectors, t-pad from base, and get poded and im back at base. like a auto return thing from where you started.

The self-podding thing, fusing, haz, cannons, etc, all (in theory) return you back to the sector you were last seen in. This has some interesting effects, and results in some interesting tactics.

Being killed by another trader powering up on you, however, is supposed to follow another algorithm. Or atleast it generally does, one that follows projected paths out to a handful of random sectors and tries to find an open spot to wisk you to (hence why you'd surround before you kill) afterwards. This is usually not your last sector and tends to be towards the center of the universe, in "high traffic" areas. Knowing that can give you a better chance to predict poddings and can help you clear out some sectors during an invasion to increase your chances of survival.

The thing is, sometimes getting podded at dock (after twarping or tpadding in) follows one, and sometimes it follows the other. I've seen it do both. Is this a bug? Well, maybe it is... or maybe it just means our understanding of the pod flee isn't perfect. Maybe it's good to have some randomness to make it all a little unpredictable at times.

You're all missing the point of Prom's initial post. He was stating that this was directly related to twarping out, and the wave being late enough that you had already engaged.
I for one do not consider it a bug, just luck on everybody's side. I do not believe it should be changed, as its nice to get podded at dock as a red, and still not die.

Fedsafe blues have enough advantages in fedspace. They dont need another.

No, we do get that there's that, too. But this also happens even when they're not twarping out.
