Hmm, another reason to learn scripting! I think the odds are slim, but then again, those are the odds that seem to surface when I'm playin. I'll ride this out and see what happens. Sofar all good, just need more players in the game. Might be the only game out there that pirtates can run around in an ISS. (edit slipped by me before game opened) Sofar there are only a coupld serious players. If I'm not getting any traffic there, not sure how much I want to put into this box. I guess I need a fancy web site! LOL

Most of it would be fairly easy, the MSL’s would need to be check for manually and then added in or probably even easier would be just to make a subroutine perform a quick check in the editor to see if the planet is still a L6 if not then send the commands to revamp it,(this could also ensure it still exists and that it is still the same name and class just in case a player blows it or creates a new planet and attempts to emulate this one, this routine could also check for a matching creator name within the editor; if things to jive, it would terminate or make a new planet or whatnot.) Here is a little example to deal with FedSpace…
# This first part is ran only once per startup
setVar $SD “replace with SD sector”
setVar $TS “replace with total sectors”
#
.
.
.
goTo :GETRANDOM
:TESTRANDOM
IF $random=$SD
goTo :GETRANDOM
END
# The script action continues
.
.
.
setDelayTrigger.....
PAUSE
:GETRANDOM
getRnd $random 11 $TS
goTo :TESTRANDOM

Well it takes time. When we first started, we were running a single node BBS and only one player at a time. Then we eventually heard about the TWGS and opened up with 4 nodes and 2 games. Then eventually we went 100 nodes. Now we have a full server of game choices, and we may not have the player base like UTW or others, but we do have a variety of games. My attitude is this. I am in this for the long haul. If I have 10 players playing, then that's fine. It's a hobby, not a career. I opened the server to public to provide a space to play. Give it some time. If you decide to, create a website. If you need a spot to host it, hit me up. I host a few other sites as well, so it's no bother. Post your games on forums, such as EIS, Darkstarbase, and even Outpost-4. We have spots for other SysOps to post their games. Take a tour and get a feel of what the games being played are. Play with the edits and try creating one or two of your own. Eventually you will get into the groove and fit right into the community.
After all, we all were in the same position at one point or another.

Thanks for the pep talk. I really purchased the sofware, just to bang some games for me and my corpies to practice in, but had the urge to post some unique public games, and did. (At least I think they are) I've already been trashed by one player not liking the edits, so I guess that makes it official, I'm in!
Speaking of Outpost, I've been unable to log onto the website for a few weeks now. Something up?

Which do you mean? Login using an account you created on the website? Or just accessing the site in general. It's been up now since my return.
Traffic is showing.... people are accessing the site.

I can't access the game, or your website, I just get a DNS error on the page. Must be my settings, but I can access anything else.

Ok first thing is can you get to the site at all? Can you access the TWGS? Because a couple people now are having issues, yet I have others that can connect to both the site and the TWGS.

Weird. If you like I can delete the record for your username on the forum and you can recreate the account. I could run repair on the SQL table as well.

Once you have players tell you how to change an edit to their liking you have become a real Sysop... <insert laughter here>
