It may be the players' systems that have the viruses or low clock battery?

Orion - the players' systems have nothing to do with it. MajorPayne - Basically I'm wanting to find anything in the hardware or system configuration that would be a common factor between all systems that have this problem. So for example, what speed is your processor? What else do you have running on the computer?

I would tend to think the low CMOS battery compounds the problem, but this issue crops up from time to time regardless. I've installed TWGS on several different systems, new old, fast, slow, whatever... and over a long period of time (say, several days), players start to lose messages, especially between players that have been logged in for a long time, and those with fresh sessions.

Turning off any programs or windows services that change your system clock will prevent the problem from happening every single day, but the problem will still affect users once in a while.

There's no solution to it short of a complete rewrite of the way game messages are handled.

Harley, athe server isn't running anything at all other than XP. It is dedicated to the TWGS server. It is a quad processer running at 2.44GHZ I have already started moving the server to the same server that I ran TW on but thru a BBS I don't ever remember the problem in 16 years. But of course that computer is new as well. I only had the BBS on it about one month before I turned it down and start The TWGS server. Anyway I have already started moving everything over So I should be up today.. I have checked for Programs that might change the time on both servers. THe only thing that I have found was what XP comes with IE the Sync programs. Lets see what happeneds.
