Hello, i'm glad to see that updates are still being done to TW! I used to run a game using TWGS. We were kicking around the idea of getting a new game going, but my roommate doesn't want me to run it from our house for bandwidth reasons. Personally, I don't see even a full game of TW using much bandwidth, but w/e...

My question: Is it possible for me to run the game remotely? I have some web space with a 10 gig/month tranfer limit. Could all the trade wars files be uploaded to the server and ran from there?

It does not use that much bandwidth, I have like 5 up, 5 down, a server, 6 local machines, and 2 wireless machines, and my board only has a TOUCH of lag (mid 200's instead of low 200's) so, naw...

twgs was not setup to be ran from a webserver... I'm guessing you have a virtual plan.. but... you can not do everything remotely ie: bang a game.

unless you have remote access to the pc ie: VR or oh heck, whats that called... VNC (Virtual Network Client)setup. These type of programs allow you to 'remotely' control the desktop, most server companys wont allow something like this.

Also RDP from windows itself, I have a TWGS on a online webserver, but I own the whole thing, and TWGS will run on a server, but on the server 2003, if you set it as a service, it doesn't work like it is supposed to. So you have to just disconnect instead of logging off. This way it still runs the TWGS. Sometimes it is a major pain, but hey, what the heck.

I am thinking about increasing the memory of the server to handle the forums better. As well as the TWGS and other things, this may help things all around. I will let all know how it goes when I update things.
