Nite§talker has returned, my latest server had to go back to the factoy but I am building a new one now. Keep an eye out my games should be back up within the next 60 days.

I will startup atleast 3 games, one basic, two Gold. yes i still have my data for over 12 alien races and 100 usable ships.

I am also reworking some of the site, the overall design will remain the same, just because its so D*** Good [:D]

I can't wait to see the improvements made over the last year, I look forward to working with you again John.

Nice to see you bak NiteStalker. But there has not been anything knew inregards to the game.

JP is back and might be working on it. (I believe he is.) But, there has been no word on the possible release date of the next update. Or any official word that he has started working on it.

So we all are just waiting with abandoment. For when the next release might be.

i wish jp himself would get on here and at least let us know if there is any progress on it or what his possision on it is....It would solve alot of wondering.....Or has the scandle that he was in with his luggage or whatever has that even been solved?

This is the last word I heard from JP on the next version (about a week ago):

"I've been so busy with other projects I just haven't had time to work on
it. I'm hoping to get back to it after this project (which could be
done within a month). "

As to an expected release date, he wasn't able to give one.

thanks for the info harley at least we can start to see some sort of light in the darkness....Do you have any idea what kind of project he is currently working on or is that TOP SECRET....

I have no idea. I didn't ask, he didn't volunteer. As to light in the darkness... I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. I know in the past he has planned to get back to working on tradewars and other things have come up that got in the way. My feelings on it are tentative optismism

Well, regardless of upgrades, Im looking forward to running my server again, has anyone tried running the current version on win 2k3?

I dont know wheter to lad that up or stick with XP Pro.

It works fine on Win2K, any upgrade. I know that Jerry at Coastgames has been running it on WinXP, and he says it's worked well.

My personal feeling is that Win2K, Win98 or WinNT would be your best choices. Having used WinXP at work, my personal feeling is that the overhead is too high unless you have a high horsepower server.

At which point I think I'll beg JP for a Linux version. Some versions of Linux will run fast on really old hardware.

I run my server on a win2k machine with the latest updates, it seems to run just great.
