 Does anybody have a rough estimate when we will see the next update for tradewars.....the last one was in February 2002?

Hopefully soon. JP has been extremely busy with some other stuff as of late. A lot of the work on .56 has already been done but there are some issues that still need to be resolved. I wish I could give you a estimated release date but every time I do that it seems to backfire on me. [:D]
