Are you running TWGS or an older version of trade wars?

Ok, I have no idea what node editor does, but you don't need to use it. You need to set up the bbs to send an outgoing rlogin or telnet connection to the TWGS. You also need to configure TWGS to accept the connection. By default, it accepts telnet connections on port 23. If you want to change that, you'll have to stop the server and go to Configure, then it's the Server tab. As to setup on the bbs end (setting it up to initiate an rlogin or telnet connection), that'll depend on the software. I would like to note that with TWGS you don't require a BBS front end, the TWGS will accept connections on it's own. However, if you do want to go through a bbs, you will have to do rlogin or telnet.

I will say i continue to get an error when i tried to set up twars w/ the bbs- something in the line of c:\sbbs\xtrn\tradewars\tw2002 twnode=1
then access: 16834 (0x4000) using synchronet. I think i may try a different BBS unless anyone knows different way to fix this. This error comes up on all the games i use and i've searched for answers.

Don't try loading a specific tw2002 session, have an outgoing telnet/rlogin session to 127.0.0.1 port <whatever you set> That will take your users to the TWGS menu and from there they can enter the games.

I know it's possible, as I've seen it working. twgs.org runs syncronet for linux.
