Here's what Happened:
I was in the game Chating with a player when he lost connection. His node locked up. I saw him trying to reconnect but he couldn't. Then i got the error this program has preformed an illegal operation and will be shut down. details are:

I tried to repair it thru the install program but still got the same error. So I uninstalled the TWGS and reinstalled in same directory, same error. So I uninstalled and installed into a different hard drive, got the same error.

So if any ones knows how to fix this please share it.
I feel it might be a windozs problem. If I can't get it fixed I might re-install Windoze some time tomorrow and see if that helps.
I planned on a new system soon, might be sooner than I thought.

Could you please detail what you did to fix it? That way when someone finds this thread in the future, they'll know how to resolve that particular problem.

It looks similar to the error I had a while back on my server when I accidently started the windows Telnet server, and it crashed my TWGS, I had to stop the Windows Telnet server and it worked okay. However it can be caused by other problems too such as faulty windows updates and other things too.

Well in about 2 weeks I a going have my new system:
Dimension 3000 - Celeron Intel® Celeron® D Processor 320 (2.40GHz, 533 FSB), Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition, 512 megs ram.
This new system should help the server alot I feel. But, I could be wrong. I think I read somewhere in the forums that some people were having probs with the windoze XP. Any sugestion for the server before I find out hard way?

As far as XP .. I'm running Home edition and have had little to no problems.

The FIX .. was un-install and do a clean install .. fixed it all.

Well I am still some having problems. The server isn't showing up at all, in the system tray or in the running processes when I hit alt/ctl/del... It is showing up in the Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System information/software enviorment/running tasks.
But no where else. I think I really have to re-install windoze on this machine in order to fix it. I am not having any other problems with any other programs. To fix this problem of the server I have to unistall and re-install TWGS. This is getting old. Not just for me, but for the users as well I am sure.

I am really getting discouraged with the server. I enjoy running it and chatting with peoples on it. But this is getting hectic! I ran a virus scan and that came up negative. Probably some obscure switch in windows got switched and I do not know where it would be.

When my new system comes in I will try to get the games running now on to it. I removed 3 games as I thought maybe it was this machine couldn't handle all the processes the aliens, games at one time, but that didnt fix it. [V]
