I'm trying to create a non Federal Commission ship that requires exp to purchase. It won't let me. If the ship does not require a Federation Commission, you can't designate a specific Experience requirement (option H) the option is subdued and is only available to Fed Commission required ships. I tried making it a Fed Commission ship first, then setting the required exp, then making it a non fed commission ship and option H goes back to N/A
Is this a problem with .61, because I don't recall having this problem with the other versions?

As I remember correctly. There was never any why to create ships that require exp. The only time you could was only for Commissioned ships.
I also remember that alot of people. Have asked in the past, to have this ability added. But, as far as I know it was never added.

It is a good idea to add it to keep mixed corps on their toes.
Usually I see a better ISS that requires a comission and 5K exp to keep it in some edits. It would be goo d to have an experience requirement for ships that reds can use too. Just a suggestion.

i got a question that relates to topic, how come when i am in a fedship and i either A) lose commission or B) lose required xp, i IMMEDIATELY get bent over by zyrain, no matter what, and yet if u r red, as long as you avoid the dock, and have a corpie that can buy it, and a cit, they can use it? just not fair was this an intended thing from beggining? or just something that wasnt intentional, but kinda neat so it was kept?

last i knew, you couldnt move more than 3 sectors after going evil in a commisioned ship before you were killed by Capt. Z.
could have been just that version... (no clue what that was)

There are several threads on this here. I believe the testing showed it to be just random as to how far you could move.

ive "tested" and if u are commisioned and LOSE commision, u DIE if u do anything at all, but if u r evil and trade ships in a cit, u r fine as long as u avoid dock.

This can all be prevented just by leaving that setting in default setting of no , its called sharing
with it off ..a red can not get in one.
And the other actions are correct .. random chance you get killed by feds if you loose commision.
As it should be [:)]

Slim - you're wrong. On each sector entry event (moving, entering game), there is a chance you'll get nailed by the feds if you're red. You can port, pwarp, etc, so long as it isn't a sector entry event. An interesting side note, unless you're red, the feds don't seem to mind you driving a commision only ship, even if you're under 1000 align.

well harley, i believe you and in no way wish to argue with you as in any arguement, you would be right and i would be wrong, heh and i have HUGE respect for ya as you know.. how about this though, lets say its a fedship with xp requirments as well? i ask because i was in game with this and i would enter game in a fedship with xp requirements after xtern (i lost all xp being with a red) and before i had a chance to breath (IE: u gain X turns, u get taxed, you are in pod) ive also seen a game where pod's were commision only and if you podded someone, they were immediately dead if they had no commish. also saw in another game my red, take my fedship and go warpin around in it but random chance=me unlucky, well, so be it.

It's just random chance. Normally, you're going to die sooner than later. If you got taxed, it means you entered the game. Game entry is a sector entry event, and as such, there's a chance of being podded. At the same time, sometimes you get several moves. I've had both happen in games. I once had my ISP drop me mid invasion I was doing solo. I had gone red killing an enemy and when I reconnected, took my last death for the day to zyrain, with all of the stuff I just invaded still in the enemy sector :/ Traitor ran a bunch of tests on it at one point, and found no discernable pattern. Your own figs, corp figs, align difference, etc all had no bearing on it. I know for a fact I've gone red in an ISS and had exp drop too low in an exp ship and still had several moves.

Add to it my experience, I went red in a Patrol Cruiser, in edits I made, and forgot to turn off the Comissioned flag as it was based on an ISS. I made it to Star Dock and started busting planets in it. The first Federal to enter the sector, podded me. It was not Zyrian it was one of the other two I think? Anyway my bust planets macro made me move to sector 5, and my pod ran into offensive alien figs. I had to scoll back in the logs to see it.
The screen capture file I posted on Res' forums here:

Apparently Clausewitz nailed me.
It is kind of funny now that I look back at it. [:)]
It is random, but apparently I was able to make it to the Star Dock and start busting planets before I got podded.

Feds leave you alone in your ISS as long as you have over 500 alignment but you have to figure how to get to SD unless you have a corpie tow you. Under 500 align in ISS you just take your chances!

I have to back up Slim Shady's remarks. Whenever you accidentally go red in an ISS, it takes one move to get nailed by Z. Maybe both of us have bad luck, but everytime I go red this has happened to me.
