Ok, way back in the day I had TW running as a large feature of my BBS. I had it registered <natch>. Of course with the rise of the internet my bbs pretty much died and I turned it off during a thunderstorm one night and just never turned it back on.

Having found TW running on the net the other day I rediscovered how much I like it and I am thrilled to see that it is still a going concern. I want back in, I want to run my own again. That leads to my question, which programs should I be getting? What software other than the TW products from here do I need to be installing to make everything work right?

I like some of the extensions that TW gold seems to provide, but can a gold game be set up to be more or less like the original? Or do I need to get "regular" TW as well? What does my previous registration of TW get me program wise?

Which of the several options on the order form should I be checking? I would like the server (TWGS, yes?) so people can get to it, and I think the gold (if you can config it to be mostly "stock" and/or people won't really notice which version is actually running) version of TW would be what I want.

He'p me, he'p me.

Ok, first off, to run a server, all you need is the TWGS registered and TW2002. The TWGS is a stand alone application that will run TW2002 games. The Gold add-on allows you to make changes to ships, planets, and customize aliens. You can of course choose not to change anything and then it would be a stock game. I would definately recommend gold. As to what your previous registration gets you, possibly you will only need to buy a TWGS registration and a TWgold registration, not a TW2002 registration. You will need to contact jpritch@eisonline.com for further information on that. I would hold off on ordering anything until you've talked to him and found out what exactly you need to pay for :)

Go to the http://www.eisonline.com/twgs/beta/ page and download the latest beta, there is a link for the tools too at the bottom of that page, you might need those. Play around with the demo a bit, and then see what codes you will need.

You will need at least the TWGS and TW2002 codes as Harley said, also the TWGold code if you want to run a Gold game with custom edits. Which TWGS registration is up to you, the TWGS Lite is cheaper but limits the game to only 4 players at a time. The TWGS Standard or whatever has up to 100 people at the same time that can play. You can always upgrade your code if the TWGS Lite is not enough for you. More details and pricing are here: http://www.eisonline.com/order/default.htm

Good luck, I like your banner pic, combines Pulp Fiction with Star Wars. :)
