Am I missing something? Is there some previous animosity between Rick Meads (TeamEIS... TW Representative... TW Project Manager), and Strider who posted a comment/question that contains no quip or smart remark?? Here, the staff is showing attitude without provocation. You'll help Agent D and guide him, only to turn around and snap at Strider. This is the Support and Help Forum. As Harley is fond of saying... "Save that for the Smack forum.

And once upon a time, non-relevant posts were considered spam, so please overlook the non-relevant nature of this one Agent D.

There was no animosity, and i didn't snap at Strider, i like Strider just fine, but the fact of the matter is this forum is for help and part of that is helping people learn to help themselves, everything can;t be spoon fed and thats the point.

Also in the future please post any comments or complaints in a seperate thread, forum or personal message, as you already noted posting this here distracts from the issue at hand.

Thanks

I just had some problems with people getting logged off on my server and after checking around a little I found the twmail.dat file for one game was about 12 meg and deleted it and I found another game at about 8 meg and deleted that one too. They report no problems since I deleted them so I would suggest looking there also.

P.S. Hey EIS guys, any ideas on fixing this problem?

Often times when the machine that TWGS is running on has an unexpected shutdown, TWGS itself is shutdown improperly or data corruption exists the system throws a large amount of junk into the mail.dat file. The fix is exactly what you did, shut down the server, delete the large mail.dat file and restart. These huge .dat files will boot players, and also not allow them into the game, so if a player complains that they hit a fighter or mines or did some other event that causes a message to be displayed and the get booted from the game and are not able to get back in, the .dat file is the place to start looking if it's over a 1meg then it needs to be deleted.
