I believe this is the feature that connects to tradewars games (2 sep servers) through a portal...creating the illusion that it is still one.

Do you know when we can expect a function like this?

It is my understanding that jump gate is simply a utility to maintain a database of currently running games. As far as I know, there aren't any plans for a utility to join games on two seperate servers. As far as that goes, I don't think it would really be a good idea, anyway. It would involve increased latency and a lot of hassle. Using the current Gold bubble creater, I think you could make a game on one server where two halves of the universe only had 1 or 2 points joining them. Other than increased universe size, is there any reason you would really need to join two seperate games?

I need this ability on *my* server...I want to create an alternate dimension universe that my players in the main one can cross over to and attack the aliens.

As far as I know JumpGate is what Harley said. The reason I know this is because Rave had me create a beta version of this. I do not know if they are going to have me continue my work on it, but it was fun while it lasted.

Personally I would just be happy to see the universe size go up again from 20k max to say 50k sectors, or maybe even 100k, maybe in 10k sector increments after 20k. This would work good for unlimited games. This would give unlimiteds a little more of a challenge rather than just running never-ending, automated, ruin the game in 2 days scripts. They would actually have to work at a game like the rest of us good players. Also with the scripts and helper capabilities these days even 20k sectors is getting to be too small. Just a suggestion.

It would be fun, heh. BUT theres the scenerio of people/teams hiding out on a particular server connected to the mass united universe and the server shutting down. By accidental cause or by corrupt service, where would those players be? Hiding in secure nonexistence or crippled to serve out their turns? It just seems like its bringing more bad then good. One dedicated server hosting more then one game, connected to one mass universe. Now that! would be hell'[}:)]'sweet. It brings more flexibility to the roll playing then flat out expanding the game's maximum sector allowance. I for one would dedicate the hardware to massively house a major hub such as this. 20k sectors with over-haul on hardware is wasted and cramped.

Also, .. more then one server = more then one ISP. How would this conflict? Same/Different ISP & distance apart = traffic and other disasters. We're talking a load of problems.

Anyways.......
