A few suggestions for the next release, from other posts on here, that could mean a long ways off but here they are anyway.
First...Make the Universe selection in the command center show the same info for Aliens as it does for Ferrengi, such as home sector location for us who like to edit the alien sectors before opening a game it makes it easier to find.
Second...in the Gold Planet editor...I made unique planets for the Ferrengi and Aliens, when a game is banged and it puts the planets out there it ignores the initial settings on the planet and I have to edit them once I bang a game too. Example, I tell it to start with 500k fuel ore and when its made in the game it has like 12k. Or tell it to start with 350k fighters on it, it has 11k. Why have the planet editor if the planets dont reflect the edits when they are made.
Third...the planet editor, option N, if you assign a planet to an alien race it should ask you if its a Gold Alien and should be able to assign it to them. I accidentally set Ferrengal from the Gold Ferrengi to the internal Ferrengi and had to set the citadel level to 1 so they could retake their planet. You should be able to assign planets even to Gold aliens.
And Last but not least, please try and simplify the instructions or explanation for the Spawning settings. These are very confusing to a new person and took me several hours to figure out and I am still not sure I got it down. For that matter I think they could be very confusing to just about anyone.
I realize there is a lot going on with the developers but it would be nice to see at least these few things changed.
By the way I notice Rave was working on some of the old extenders for TW before she passed. Has anyone resumed her efforts or are there any of the extenders out there that work. I remember some of them and I think it would be a great addition if they can be done.

Hey Shorty I was on Rave's sisters website and she said she was not going to release any of Rave's stuff, and asked that no one try to get it from her. So unless someone was working with her on that and has a copy it may be a lost cause.

My entire Trade Wars File Archive will be available for download from http://www.thestardock.com - I finished transfering the 140 MB archive to EleqTrizi'T the other day.

I'm still adding more files - which will be transfered as soon as I have a chance to sort and catalog them. I've also written several utils for TW2002 V3, all of which should (fingers crossed) work with TWGS. Copies are in the archive.

Craig, the sysop of Chowdanet has written at least one util for TWGS, a copy of that is there as well. EleqTrizi't is threatening to write something.

I have several projects on the go - my problem is a lack of time to finish things. I have started on:

1) a program to turn off the autopilot and transwarp
2) Rebang - a program to produce unusual universes
3) TWGS Tool Kit - extra editing functions
4) PortFix - fixes ports messed up by Bigbang when universe had bubbles.
5) Expander for TWGS
6) Multi TWGS play option
7) String Editor
8) Nebulae Editor (Names in bulk)
9) Port Editor (Names in bulk)

Some of these - the Toolkit for example are fairly simple, I've already been at the data files with a hex editor and made 255 turn per sector ships, transwarp drives that cost 1,000,000,000 dollars. Easy stuff.

Other things like an Expander for the TWGS are more complex, tie into the TWGS at many points, and will take a lot of time.

And then of course there's my secret project, the program that rewrites the TWGS data files on the fly, CHANGING THE RULES AS YOU PLAY...

As I said - some of this is easy. Some of it is very time consuming, and I'm only human.

So with that on-the-fly editor, could you make a planet type that changes each day at extern? A sort of "lavalite" world (see Philip Hosea Farmer's World of Teirs series)
