I was wondering has anything been made yet to have an alien AI in the works? Its been awhile and I havent seen much on alien AIs. Or is there anywhere you can goto learn how to program an alien AI instead.

Last of all, what twgs do you need that has the bug, where everytime you drop a planet in an alien sector, they take it over quickly and upgrade it to maximum. I was told before it was 3.05? but does anyone know or have heard of this?

This is not a bug. Aliens now have the capability of acting on their own. Aggression is set in the configurations of the alien race. Territory and territorial characteristics are all optional now as well. The setup however can be considered "a bug" just as say a ship that sells for more then what you pay for it.

Hehe - you just gotta sit there and watch those Gold Aliens going nuts in the Alien server.

Gold aliens do add a new dimension to the game, and it will be nice when the AI modules are done.

Sometimes the aliens are playing more then the traders. ha ha. Atleast they're accomplishing more. The logs in an aggressive setup are a laugh at times. Who was it that I saw? The server named a race, Gods. Then there were like two other races. Watching the Gods battle it out over the logs was like reading a Greek book report. tee-hee, I wish I knew who that was. Like to see how it turned out. [:o)]

I know how that goes. I have a game where the Borg are just warring with my other races, and make about 300mil a day. It makes for a nice reward to invade =)

So, Has this changed the attitude to the game play itself with the players? Tell me more. I would think the effort put towards one would unbalance alot of the knocking on each other's doors, ya know? Then again, It "adds a dimension" of trivial strategy when trying to keep up guard and attack with the other players. So, in turn creating a challenge of survival and advancement. Are the aliens aggressive towards the players and their territory as well? Pretty tedious work keeping defenses up and trying to fit in a good offensive strategy on player angst. [}:)] heh

Actually, I had a race called "Pirates" once. They were very offensive. They'd go in relentlessly, invade a players sector, take over the citadeled planets and put 50K figs in sector and fill up the planet fighters on the citadeled planets. Made for quite a shock to log off one night and come back to see your planet with a million defensive fighters on it.

And currently, the Borg are aggressive with the players. This not only makes the players work harder, but also makes them mad at the aliens and not other players. =) Keeps the newbies alive longer, and keeps the experienced guys busier.

Sounds good. To those having trouble getting players into their games. Don't abandon those who *are* playing. Give them something more to challenge their moves. Alien races such as Abbeyroad's are a good idea for a remedy. Just remember to keep atleast one good bang open without all the stand-alone excitement so those who don't need the conflicting interference getting in the way of a heated competition can battle it out. Abbey, keep us posted on these games' bangs. Sounds like a load of fun.

I sure will. After I finish my edits and stop my TEDIT-ing, I'll rebang the games and advertise formally. And I'll then give details on my RPG type game. I don't know how well it'll do, but its worth a try. But anyways, I'm also open to edit ideas =) If someone stops by with an idea, let me know.

Oh, BTW, Borg aliens make 300 mil a day from trading. Though its hell to attack their home sector, it sure makes for a nice reward. Just a not to anyone interested in playing my games in the future:)

Do a search on google for a site called Baronwood's BBS - this guy has amazing tradewar games.
One - one server is setup strictly to battle aliens. You think human players are hard? well its set up so playing against players is no big deal, the aliens are incredibly hard enough where you'd forget about ANY player in the game quick, and concentrate on the aliens zooming around.
Second Server - newb server, end of story.
Third - over 40 corporations battle on a 50k Server
Forth - this one is a killer - 40 corps and the Borg / Klingons / Cardassians races on hard as hell Race.
Talk about a BBS that has it set up - this is the one, you can also down the goodies too, all the server files for each game, so its incredibly fun to do any of the 4 servers.

Well, you might as well give the addy. As google does not have anything for Baronwood's BBS or Baronwood BBS. And a search on other search engines turn up nothing.

I run Alien games on my server as well. The players seem to like fighting against tough as nails aliens instead of each other.

Sure... I enjoi a good one on one but a slow game with aliens just brings you back to the classic days. You versus the Cabal -LOL- (not Traitor [;)] although they both contributed a trivial equal amount)

chit!

Well I am currently working on a new game but would love to get my hands on Mad Hatter's toolkit so I can make the edits I need.

A trivial equal amount? Heh, what's that supposed to mean? [:D]
