Damm Dupers really piss me off. It would be nice if all the Sysops running a system could keep track of there banned I.P adresses and post them here so that other sysops like myself can ban these Idiots (that ruin game's cause they are so anal) before they can even enter.
think about it, It might help keep this problem in check if these Idiots run out of places to play.

We have a forum at Yahoogroups.com called twarops. I believe membership is open to anyone, and that would be a good place for posting such info.

Yeah, and I need to get back to working on the TWGS BlackHole. Was one of my priority projects before I had the accident. Now that I'm starting to feel like my old self again, I probably should start devoting more time to it.

The problem always ends up sysops are concerned about preventing "innocents" from accessing their system. If this is a concern, they don't have to run the TWGS BlackHole frontend. It's not like it'd be a built in feature of TWGS.

I can only suggest you join TWAROps and take a look at the TWGS BlackHole idea I presented when I first opened up the forum. It -is- a closed membership, but that's only so duping can be discussed in detail without giving away anti-duping methods to peeping dupers. ;o)

It hasn't been very active lately, but I've been in a long-term funk the last couple months. I'll get things picking up shortly. Any anti-duping ideas you have would be very welcome. I look forward to approving your subscription... definitely like having Sysops that are hard core anti-dupes. ;o)

heh...dupers suck..killem all

heres an idea...when you catch a duper, dont say anything, dont ban him/her change their ship to a pod with 0 defenses while there out and about doing whatever in the game, turn all their planets rogue or otherwise against them so they will have a nice suprise when they come home...if theyre pod even makes it.

then...after they get pissed and log out go ahead and ban the ip. someone icq me if you do this i wanna come in as observer and watch it happen.

The problem here is, if a duper is given even that much lattitude, he will attempt to trash the game with stupid little messages before he leaves. These are not nice people and will trash a system in a heartbeat. Better to just delete them, and dump them I would think.

Visit slbbs.com port 2002 for a rip roaring game of TW where you also have to battle the Klingons, Romulans, Orians and the Borg.

Then they get pissed and bitch in forums about how the sysop cheats, and then you look bad.

I say just block 'em at the firewall. If they have a dynamic IP, block their whole subnet, especially if it's a /24. The hell with 'em!
