Hey guys and gals got a quick question I scaned to board but was unable to find a simular post.

My HD had to get a format done so I copyed the entire dir of eis (default install directory) to a CD then after the format renstalled twgs (game server) created the directorys using add new game tab in the configure 1-5 (games)

then proceded to copy all the old game data over.

ok this is where i run into the problem.

Before i could run bigbang tedit ext with no problems(before the copying of the old files)

now after the copy I can no longer run bigbang tedit ect.. just popups the shell program and after 10 seconds goes away no text is desplayed at all.

So as of now all my old game info is lost (I am using the same verson of twgs that the files were copyed to) users are unable to connect to any of the games while in this state.

Thankyou for your time let me know if there is any way i can fix this

Ok, heres what I did, and it worked out great. I think you did it all great except you got the last couple steps backwards.

1) Instal TWGS on new server
2) Enter TWGS reg code
3) Copy your entire EIS folder from your old server over the new EIS folder
4) Now go into "Configure..." and setup the games using the old paths. Since I used the default data paths on the old server, all I had to do was "New Game", "New Game", "New Game", "New Game"...

There yah go, old games are all in tact, no need to big bang or nothin, same as if they were being played on the old server.[:D]

4) Configured my games useing the old paths started up the server and wala still no good keeps giving me the same errors I think my data might have been corrupted or somthing guess ill have to start from scratch thanx anyway for the advice.
